I have a neighbor's cat which is totally adorable... but getting totally annoying!
He's a grey and white cat by the name of "Buddy" We thought at first the cat was a girl b/c of his affectionate nature, the size of the cat and the fact that the cat has a little bell on his collar, but it turned out to be a boy that likes to take on fights with cats much bigger than him!!! (I never said that cat is smart...) ;) He's a very nice kitty... until it starts eyeing the prize, which is getting into our garage!!! We try to keep all cats and dogs out not just b/c of the smell but also b/c my husband is allergic to the dander from both cats and dogs. (But if the cat or dog is outdoor, his allergy doesn't act up as much.)
These days Buddy is getting more "daring" trying to get into the house. It actually tried the last couple of times of hiding in the bush... until our garage doors opens and Buddy sees that the car is out before it tries to sneak into the house thru the now opened garage door!!! And then when we catch him trying to get in, he goes into "affectionate kitty" mode, all the while eyeing the open garage door prize.
A neighbor of ours suggested a water pistol. *sigh* as much as I hate being cruel to Buddy... lately I have been resorting to "target practice" with the water gun whenver the cat either tries to sneak in the house or get too close to the garage door so we feel weird about closing the door on him. (Alright! My sadistic side LOVES the target practice, given what Buddy puts us through.) *evil grin*
Hell, if we could just get the kitty to stay away from the door when we're closing it, we'll be happy! We (everyone in the neighborhood) loves Buddy, but... we have to go work!!! :-P
